The Hungarian men’s team has risen to the forefront by consistently finishing within the top six in all eight tournaments assessed. Their impressive run includes silver medals at the senior European Championship in Belgrade and the U16 European Championship in Istanbul. Close on Hungary’s heels, Serbia, the reigning European champions, sits in second place, while Spain has claimed the third spot in the men’s rankings.
In women’s water polo, the Netherlands leads the rankings, having successfully defended their European title in Funchal. Hungary follows in second place, with Spain taking the third position. These rankings reflect the teams’ performances and standings in recent competitions, highlighting the competitive nature of European water polo.
European Aquatics also released a combined ranking that amalgamates the achievements of both men’s and women’s teams. Here, Hungary maintains its dominance, leading the overall standings. Spain and Greece follow in second and third places, respectively, underscoring Hungary’s strong presence in the sport across both genders.
