by admin477351

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán called for a renewed spirit of resistance during the 69th anniversary commemoration of the 1956 revolution in Budapest. Speaking at Kossuth Square on Thursday, Orbán drew parallels between past struggles for freedom and current challenges facing Hungary, emphasizing the choice between independence and submission.
Orbán criticized the European Union, saying Brussels enforces conformity and threatens Hungary’s sovereignty through financial sanctions. He urged Hungarians to reject external pressures, uphold national interests, and defend their homeland, stressing that defending Hungary is a just cause.
Addressing young people, Orbán called for active participation in protecting the nation and preserving its freedom, urging citizens to oppose policies he described as harmful, including war involvement, migration pacts, and tax increases. He emphasized that Hungary will prioritize peace and national security over external influences.
The prime minister reinforced Hungary’s commitment to sovereignty and self-determination, declaring that the country will not sacrifice its resources or lives for external conflicts, but will focus on protecting its people and future.
