Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russia of enlisting foreign fighters from 47 different countries to bolster its ongoing military campaign in Ukraine. During an address at the United Nations, Zelensky specifically mentioned that individuals from nations such as Ghana, Nepal, and India have participated in the conflict on Russia’s side.
In a notable revelation, Zelensky stated that two North Korean soldiers captured while fighting for Russia have been transferred to South Korea. He further highlighted the increasing military collaboration between Moscow and Pyongyang, expressing concerns over Russia’s continuous efforts to secure additional manpower and resources for the war.
Amid these developments, Zelensky announced Ukraine’s strategic move to enhance its drone technology capabilities through international partnerships. Agreements related to drone technology have already been signed with Finland and Australia, and discussions are underway to establish a similar agreement with Canada, according to the Ukrainian president.
Addressing potential future military strategies, Zelensky warned that Ukraine might target Russian heating and energy facilities if Russian attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure persist during the winter months. He emphasized that such strikes would aim to diminish Moscow’s war revenues, not disrupt civilian fuel supplies. This statement comes as the United States urges both Russia and Ukraine to refrain from attacking each other’s energy infrastructure.
